PostSubject: Time to Change Tactics?   Tue Nov 13, 2007 10:00 pm

A few things I noticed:

1) Each morning a heavy majority of villages that have had the most damage done to them are CK members.

2) Very few TF members are on the list, which are closer to us than Omen by a long shot.

3) When I discovered Piddle was inactive, the entire meta of Shadow was able to take over his villages in an extremely short period of time.

4) Not everyone is participating in the war.

5) Sending defenders didn't seem to do much of the job to help CK. I still have over 1k of reinforcement requests sitting in other people's villages, none of them have been returned and non of them have been attacked.

So if there is immediate benefit or a sense of urgency, we are able to chief villages within just a few days. We all worked together on a single target, taking over 8 villages in 7 days.

I think if our allies can't fend for themselves, we need to help out by putting some pressure on TF and the bullies, but we need to do it together. No 4 person strike forces, but instead all 100+ of us sending attacks to the same person, wiping them out in one night.

Our strike team was able to take Warchild down a ton, before he got too active with 10,000 reinforcements helping him rebuild. Imagine if I would have had a little more help, Warchild would have a 0 pop capital.

Our strike team was able to cause some damage to CNR, but then the same thing happened, this time much faster than what happened to Warchild. Only was able to take out a few villages that time.

Finally, we started on Allanon, and the same thing happened, reinforcements so high that a 4 person team can't really take it all.

Now, lets say that we agree to attack person X. Someone who has hit us before. If we all send attacks to that person, at least 3 per village (fakes) and 3 real attacks or more to a random target, your talking about a deleted account in the span of one day. Our combined might is absolutely incredible and we could wipe out one TF player every night if we really wanted to.

So why are we still sending 100's of attacks each night all of which are not coordinated, or at least are not as coordinated as they could be to achieve optimal destruction of our enemies?

I think we should change tactics, no more squads, no more separate engagements. We find a person to attack, then do so. One less TF member every night, thats 40 less TF members by the time the Natars come out.

Just some random ramblings from a tired and weary General.

Signed,
General Mustard

I couldn't agree with this statement more. We literally have probably 20-30 people actively involved in this war on a daily basis and 80 just simming along business as usual. Even when asked to help they ignore the messages.

We need to see more participation, luckily for us our solid 20-30 players in Shadow make a mean force and help us hold our own but we won't be very usful to anyone else with this many people leeching off of the alliance.

Also:

5) Sending defenders didn't seem to do much of the job to help CK. I still have over 1k of reinforcement requests sitting in other people's villages, none of them have been returned and non of them have been attacked.

If i have any of those troops, I am holding them because I plan to start some trouble and will be using them shortly =)

Gnome, I agree 100%. Look at SHK, when they entered the war, they popped people around 4000 population in 3 nights. They used there entire meta to take out each person. Right now they are struggling for defense, but there start in the war was very powerful. We should be like that, but harder!

GM, if you want, I can tell my strike team to contact you about merging. My strike team consists of
Me
Gmatt (SHK [CK] alliance, but he is directly next to me, 4 blocks away)
Silvereye
resol123
and a couple of unofficial people to the team, but some EAST guys

I won't post troop numbers, but we all have mid sized armies, which we find large for our population.

And about the people not helping -
1, I'm glad I joined the war a couple weeks before I fell into this category Very Happy
2, The main reason why I wasn't in the war for awhile, but only sending defenses, was for acouple reasons. Firstly, Id idn't think my offense was good enough, and was afraid of being attacked. Secondly, real life was slapping me across the face like when I pissed off my ex girlfriend. These reasons most likely apply to others, but they should still help Razz

Note to self: The next time Danmac causes trouble, send my hero too.

SHK doesn't seem to be seeking much help. I've assisted Chuckzor on fakes. If they need defense, my rapid response defensive force is ready.

In the SW, we are starting to really gear up. We conquered two villages from one guy on saturday and sunday, crop killed a guy sunday, and are already eyeing his villages to nab before he deletes.

Let me know who we're attacking and what time and what you need me to do (fakes, cats, senators, etc.) and I'm in.

I agree whole heartedly... we need more people involved and we can do more damage rapidly. We have smart people and when they have enough time we can do some kick-ass stuff together!

The limiting factor in mass coodinated attacks is typically communication time and trust relationships. It only takes one leak to ruin a whole attack, so by working in smaller teams we can limit our exposure if a single spy exposes a plan. So, I'm inclined to try and slowly expand squad teams and start new ones as opposed to trying to jump straight to a 40 person strike team.

Sax i think that is a very good idea, i work with alot of our allies in my area last big attack was on EvelErn i set up the attacks and they all helped very nicely i just wished i could have got more catas in it on the 1 st attack because the 2nd attack i lost alot of troops owe well shit happends, for the most part i have not been attacking much i killed most of the omen that were around me but now i just find my self building the shit out of offence troops it's like i'm out for a goul i'm trying to get 3 time's my pop size with offence troops i think i'm getting my self ready for the natards, now i will say one thing when i was in RING we all looked at Shadow members as the alliance you did not wan't to piss off because they worked so good together and took down villages in one hit i have not seen any of that sence i'v been in Shadow but i know it's hear i just think some people need to be pushed a little bit harder then others, one thing we did in RING that worked preaty good i think was making teams but i don't know if that would work in this case and i tell you why i think with alot of people if you do not do it for them it will not get done and that can take alot of time. No

Duckbutter you write some of the longest run-on sentences that I've seen in a long time. Very Happy We are trying to "enlarge" our teams now though, attacks are further out giving more room for reinforcements and allowing less room for error. A larger team can produce the results we need in a longer distance battle that we find ourselves in more often these days.

I'd like to schedule an Op to hit on Friday afternoon. If you are interested please send me an IGM. My plan is to crop kill 10+ villages of a certain TF player.....

of course if we get enough people interested, we may be able to take out a few vilages entirely...

In defensive effort, I checked the SHK (CK) threads but there appears to not be any new reinforcement requests. I do have defensive troops coming back so let me know if anyone needs them. We can talk long-term loan as well. Razz

My problem right now with not sending attacks is that I don't have time to find appropriate targets to send out attacks due to the fact that I no longer have internet at my place of residence (since may). If you guys ever are mass coordinating on someone and know the times to hit a day or two in advance, let me know and I'll put my chips into the pot.
